Mercer University’s McEachern Art Center seeks to advance emerging artists and offer our community a place to contemplate art with care. Our exhibitions prioritize contemporary art and include free open programming and admission.
Meet the Director
Johnny Cohen

Johnny Cohen is the current Director of the McEachern Art Center. Born and raised in Macon, he was actively engaged in the community in both performance and fine arts. Johnny received his BA in advertising from the University of Georgia in 2018 and pursued his MFA in sculpture at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2021. Johnny’s professional background is rooted from his experience working as a visual merchandiser, specializing in installation and spatial design. His professional work embodies themes of consumer culture, color, and nostalgia. He is excited to return to his hometown to continue growing the Macon arts community and is proud to be a new addition to the Mercer family.
